How do I know if therapy is for me?
Some people come to therapy knowing what they want to change. Other people come to therapy with a lot of stress, depression or just feeling badly about themselves, their marriage or their life. Therapists can explore these things with their clients and help them to set and to achieve goals. This is sometimes done in a structured way or sometimes it just begins to happen through observation and conversation.  If you have tried to work through challenges on your own and have not been successful, we are here to assist you during life transitions or when you are simply feeling unhappy with your current life situation.

What is the process for arranging a therapy session?
This is as simple as 1-2-3

Free Initial Consultation

A free 15 minute chat, where you tell me what life issues you want to tackle, for me to tell you if/how my therapy may be able to help, and to generally see if we “connect” as client and therapist.  If we decide we are a good match for each other, we will progress to arrange the therapy sessions.

Book Therapy Sessions

Pre-plan a batch of sessions over a few weeks

What is a typical duration of a single therapy session?
Options for a given session are:

  • 30 minutes

  • 50 minutes (this is the default appointment length)

  • 75 minutes

  • 100min hours (2 x 50 minute sessions in one day)

  • 180min (2 x 90 minute sessions in one day - used for intensive couples therapy only) with two hours break in between

How often will me meet?
This varies between clients, but most typically will be:

  • Twice per week

  • Once per week

  • Once per fortnight (typically on “wind-down” of the long-term therapy sessions – not suitable for new engagements)

How many sessions will I need in total?
There is no “typical” number of sessions – this varies according to client needs. 

What days and times can the therapy sessions be held?
Monday-Friday, 9am to 8.30pm   (individuals and couples)
Saturdays, 9am to 8.30pm (couples only)

Where will the therapy sessions be held?
Sessions can be held in a number of different locations:

  • At my consultation practice in West Norwood (SE19).

  • Third party premises in SE1 and SE20
